
Mike Blamires
Mike is the director of content and quality assurance and Valorisation for the Teacher Training Resource Bank and also the deputy director of the Behaviour4Learning initial teacher education professional resource network (IPRN). He is also a member of the Faculty Management Team at Canterbury Christ Church University with a responsibility for innovation and project development.
Mike began his teaching career working with learners with reading and behavioural difficulties in South London and then became a co-ordinator for the Redbridge Special Education Micro Electronic Resource Centre (SEMERC) of the National Council for Educational Technology. This involved working with advisors, teachers, para-medical staff, parents and children across thirty three Local Education Authorities.
Mike has been Course Director for the Special Education Needs Co-ordinators and Autism Post Graduate Diplomas and more recently the MA in Enabling Learning.
He has edited books on Individual Education Planning, Speech and Language Difficulties, Enabling Technology, Parental Partnership and School Support Services.
He has been a consultant and researcher on two DFES projects (Individual Educational Plans, Specific Learning Difficulties) as well as a Scottish inclusion project ‘Success for All’.
Recent international work has included collaborations with the Universities of Havana and Las Tunas in Cuba.
