TTRB Newsletter: Spring 2008: Introduction
 | The TTRB is well into the second phase of its development as 'a resource for the profession by the profession'. The site now has over a thousand reviews undertaken by more than fifty reviewers from over forty institutions. All of these articles go through a rigourous process of peer review.
Although, the material on the site is targeted at teacher educators and novice teachers on a range of programmes, many teachers are telling us that they find the resources very useful. This is perhaps not too surprising as we have focussed significant effort in locating resources to support the work of school based mentors. |
As part of our work plan, we have gone through all the articles on the TTRB and classified them according to the 2007 TDA standards for QTS so that users can find useful material browsing by these standards. We also took the opportunity to prune and archive content that is dated or has been superseded by more recent or better material and we refreshed the recommended links between articles. This should improve the site significantly.
A significant refresh and makeover will be applied to the site this year so that it is easier to use and less cluttered. The search will also be much improved.
Please consider contributing to the site.
We will be holding another two day workshop for new reviewers on April 22nd and 23rd in London at the Prospero Centre in Borough, London. This is free with travel costs provided. Teacher Educators have found this course to be good professional development as well as an opportunity to get to grips with the supportive peer review process with TTRB staff and experienced reviewers. Places are limited so book your place now. Email TTRB@canterbury.ac.uk
This is the first time we have made the Newsletter available as web pages rather than as a print document (pdf). Let us know what you think via the email above or by launching the short survey below. |
