Definition:
Teachers TV produces programmes dealing with all aspects of life inside school. It is relevant to everyone who is involved in education. Teachers TV is both a TV channel and a website where there are more than two thousand TV programmes. The vast majority of these programmes are 15 minutes long and can be streamed over the internet. Their programmes can be accessed through specific subject areas, key age phases or as 'whole school issues'. There is also a specific ‘features’ section. An email alerting service for new programmes can be selected according to interest.
Registered users can download most of the programmes which can then easily be replayed. It is also quite simple to load these programmes into a video editor such as Movie Maker which comes free with more recent versions of windows. Video extracts can be selected and saved for use by themselves or inserted in Powerpoint presentations. If you find one that is particulary useful, why not review it for TTRB and share it with colleagues?
The TTRB reviews many TTV programmes to provide illustrations of practice and also to provide an alternative commentary focused upon the implications for ITE.
